District & Sessions Court, Dadra and Nagar Haveli at Silvassa

ABOUT DISTRICT COURT

The District and Sessions Court, Dadra & Nagar Haveli at Silvassa, has been established as per Government of India’s Notification No. 8 of 1963 and started it’s functioning from the year 1965 at old Court building situated at Saheed Chowk, Naroli Char Rasta. Later on the Court shifted in the present building in the year 1998 located at Tokarkhada.

The foundation stone of the present building was laid by the then Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.B. Shah, Chief Justice, High Court of Judicature at Bombay in the presence of the then Hon’ble Mr. S.P. Agarwal, IAS, Administrator of the Union Territories of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Silvassa on 18th November, 1995. The New Building of the District & Sessions Court, Silvassa was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.B. Shah, Chief Justice, High Court of Judicature at Bombay on 14th April, 1998 and Hon’ble Mr. S.P. Agarwal, IAS, Administrator of the Union Territories of Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Silvassa presided over the function.
